The China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations is among China’s largest and oldest civilian research institutions for international studies. Located in Beijing, CICIR is affiliated with China’s Ministry of State Security (MSS). Different research divisions, each covering a regional or functional area of study are comprised within CICIR.
