Drawing on practice theory and material semiotics, this article proposes a reconceptualization of ‘digital authoritarian practices’ that treats digital technologies not as neutral instruments in the hands of human actors but as constitutively entangled in the socio-material relations through which accountability is sabotaged, whether intentionally or not.
[IT] Il 6-7 maggio 2024 si è tenuto il quarto simposio internazionale organizzato congiuntamente dal think tank LSE IDEAS della London School of Economics, il think tank torinese T.wai – Torino World Affairs Institute e il Dipartimento Culture, Politiche e Società dellʼUniversità degli Studi di Torino. Intitolato "CTRL + Power: La (geo)politica dellʼautoritarismo digitale" il simposio ha visto alternarsi panel tematici e conversazioni tra professioniste/i, studiose/i affermate/i e ricercatrici/ricercatori allʼinizio della propria carriera accademica.
On 6–7 May 2024 the London School of Economicsʼ think tank LSE IDEAS; the Turin-based think tank T.wai – Torino World Affairs Institute; and the Department of Cultures, Politics and Society of the University of Turin held their fourth joint international symposium: CTRL + Power: The (Geo)Politics of Digital Authoritarianism.
