As a result, Moroccan media coverage of Bourita’s visit to Beijing moved beyond discussions of Morocco’s growing strategic importance for Chinese economic expansion in Africa, focusing instead on the possibility that China might eventually follow much of the Western world in recognizing Moroccan sovereignty over the Western Sahara.”
