Giuseppe Gabusi is Head of T.wai’s Asia Prospects Program and an Assistant Professor of International Political Economy and Political Economy of East Asia at the University of Torino.
On 18 and 19 February 2022, one year after the military coup in Myanmar, T.wai – Torino World Affairs Institute hosted a hybrid international conference in partnership with the Department of Cultures, Politics and Society of the University of Turin and with the support of the City of Turin and the Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo. This book collects some of the papers that academics and practitioners alike presented at the conference.

Yadana nasce in Birmania nel 1932, all’interno della dinastia reale birmana Konbaung, e muore a Firenze nel 2020.
This article argues that a peculiar pattern of dependent asymmetry – ‘dual dependence’, i.e. a combination of internal and external dependence – has come to characterize the structure of China-Myanmar relations since the late 1980s.
