Il linguaggio giornalistico della diaspora cinese contemporanea in Italia. Parole chiave e tifa (提法)

Chinese diasporic communities are both sources and recipients of media narratives that describe and shape their relationship with Mainland China and its policies. Examining the contents through which these communities interact can help understand their influence on the contemporary cultural landscape, at a time when China is increasingly asserting its role in redefining global balances. This study aims to contribute to the understanding of the cultural and political implications of these discursive practices by analysing the narratives of the Chinese diaspora in Italy, focusing on Chinese-language newspapers published in the country. Employing a mixed-method approach that draws from Cultural Studies and Discourse Analysis, this research examines a corpus of news articles published in recent years to identify dominant themes, fixed expressions (tifa 提法), and keywords, in order to explore the political and cultural positioning of Chinese migrants within Italian society and their relationship with the political discourse of their homeland.
